Weekend in London!!!!!!!

In the city!!!!!!!πŸ’…πŸΌπŸ˜ŽπŸŒƒ

sunny 15 °C

On Saturday morning we were all up very early catching the 5:47 am train from Cardiff to London Paddigton, On the train journey Em and I were sitting together and Carter, Mum and Dacu were sitting together. We all ate a mixture of danishes, Bacon rolls and Grapes!!! Our train arrived at about 8 am!! We figured out what we were doing and hopped on one of the big bus tours around London. We stayed on the bus until we got over the tower bridge, Here are some photos of the bus tour.90_IMG_6901.jpg90_IMG_6933.jpg90_IMG_6898.jpgIMG_6929.jpg90_IMG_6935.jpgIMG_6906.jpgFrom there we walked to the Tower of London and had a tour from one of the beefeaters who lived there!!!! ( To become a beefeater you had to serve 22 years in one of the three forces ( for your first eighteen you couldn't make a single mistake, you also had to get a speacil type of medal which they all had on their clothing ). He was really funny and he told us lots of information in only an hour. The history of the tower is really disgusting and lots of people died. After the tour we went and saw he raven which are believed to protect the Crown Jewels πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ’πŸ’ and the white tower( In the Tower of London there are three towers the white tower, The inner tower and the outer tower. After the ravens we went to see THE CROWN JEWELS!!!!!!!!!!!πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’ You couldn't take any pictures of them but they were in a big container which had 4 tone doors on the entrance and the exit.😾 My favourite jewels were Queen Victorias her's were small but heavely blinged. The was lots of information about the corination and what was used for different things like the plates and bowls on the table or the jugs of water πŸ’¦. There were heaps of golden staffs and the different swords that showed what rank you were and if you could sit in the good seats or not.
Here Are Some Photos from the Tower of London.90_IMG_6928.jpg This means Elizabeth the Second Regalier 90_IMG_6922.jpg90_IMG_6927.jpg90_IMG_6923.jpg
After we had finished the tour we grabbed some lunch at a Wagamama restaurant. Everybody loved it and said that if they could go again they would!!!!!!

On the way i was talking to Megan and I remember that we hadn't got the BBQ so we pulled in to TESCO's and grabbed the last 2 on the shelf!!! And carried on our way. When we got to the beach we chose a spot that was sheltered a little bit from the wind so we could set up the BBQ

On Sunday after Kidwelly Castle we went to the Welsh National Wetland Centre.

overcast 12 °C

To get to the Wetlands Centre you had to follow the brown duck signs. When we got there the first thing we noticed was a bright pink plastic flamingo poking it's head over the fence surrounding the Centre. A plaque on the door notified us that David Attenborough had officially opened the Wetland Centre. We only had two hours so we paid our entrance fees and bypassed the Information Centre. Through the doors and out into the Welsh sunshine. There were birds everywhere. The first ones that we saw were mallard ducks, which are very common in most parts of the world. We looked at the map and decided to do half of the grounds and come back another time and do the rest when we had more time. We walked around and saw so many birds that we lost count.
Some of the birds we saw were: mallards, mandarin ducks, barnacle geese, white-fronted geese, Canadian geese, ruddy-headed geese, red-breasted geese, tufted ducks, white-headed ducks, blue-beaked ducks, shelducks, eiders, puna teals, teals of every kind, black-necked swans, black swans, mute swans, whooping swans, Bewick's swans and the eternally cute bufflehead ducks.
There was a playground, and tubs of feed you could feed the ducks with, and lots of activities for kids. The best birds there by far were the flamingos. There were heaps of flamingos, and a special house equipped with heat lamps for them to rest in. The water had to be kept really salty, and the flamingos kept squabbling and fighting for the best patch of water, or ground, or sunlight. They were really noisy and really, really pink!

Hi to everyone in Nz, photos to follow!

Scarlets Game!!

Passionate about rugby NZ and Wales!!!

On Saturday night we were guests of friends of ours (Spencer and Owain Davies - AMCANU) at the game between the Llanelli Scarlets and the Swansea Ospreys. We were treated to a meal before the game and Emily and I ate sooooo much! (3 desserts - everything in Wales is so sweet and yummy) There was a great atmosphere at the game with an almost full stadium expecting a Scarlets victory. My great grandfather Emrys had previously played for the Llanelli Scarlets in 1935 when they had played the All Blacks - he scored a try against them that day but the All Blacks still won. There are so many people interested in the Lions tour! There was lots of singing at the game - all of it in Welsh and they have a theme song 'Sospan Fach' which translated into English is a song about a saucepan!!!! There was some great rugby and some players from New Zealand Johnny McNichol in the Scarlets from the Crusaders and Keron Fonotia in the Ospreys from the Makos! It was a great time and the Welsh love their rugby as much as the kiwis, lots of shouting at the referee, lots of jumping up and down and lots of yelling!

Back to school today for the last of the national tests, sunny and warm days here, hope its not getting too cold in NZ.
